After accosting Alfred Batman flees into the night. Alfred is visited by Father Green. Father Green is looking for a tortured soul that needs healing. He tells Alfred about a plantation owner shortly after the Civil War. This plantation owner continues to treat people as if they were slaves. During the night, he’s called into the night by the beating of drums and interrupts a ritual taking place. He’s bitten by a snake which causes his sister and him to be transformed into “twice-damned souls”. Now they have infected Batman. Will Batman be able to find a cure and stop his inhuman cravings?Story continued in Batman #351
