Batman: Shadow of the Bat #24 (1992)

Full title is Knightquest, The Crusade: The Shadow of the Bat Falls Upon The Immigrant: Rosemary’s Baby. An illegal immigrant named Rosemary comes to Gotham to buy back her baby which was sold in order to have bail money for the release of her husband Raoul. However, the baby is adopted in the black market and Raoul can’t be saved. The Batman can’t stop the entire operation but at least he saves a vanload of babies from the same fate.This Batman dons a powersuit which covers his face fully and has metal claws. His torso is covered in gold armor. He refers to being a product of “the system.” This is truly a different Batman. He even says he hates detective work and the boredom it entails. The revealing truth comes out as the Batman talks about his father’s use of hypnosis and his system.
